Margaret is an educator, advocate, and learning experience designer who is recognized for her deep understanding of how people learn and her ability to guide collaborative visualization and co-creation. She combines empathy, broad knowledge of learning theory, and expertise in human-centered design and usability to create elegant and practical solutions.

Margaret has more than twenty years of experience in the learning space. She built creative muscle through years of working in arts integration with teachers and students of all ages, honing her ability to weave together content learning and arts practice. Later, as a founding teacher at a middle school with gamelike learning, digital media, and systems thinking at the core of its mission, she drew on the power of play to engage young people in purpose-driven learning. She joined Convergence Academies in 2013, a project that helped to advance a model of digital media integration and connected learning at two Chicago Public Schools.

Through these experiences, she built expertise in the unique needs of adult learners, including an understanding of how to create structures that work for professionals in blended environments and the deep importance of communities of practice. In 2016, she co-founded Convergence Design Lab to continue the work of strategizing, designing, researching, and telling the story of impactful learning initiatives with clients both locally and nationally.

Margaret holds a B.A. in Social Science and Spanish from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Educational Theatre from NYU. She lives in Chicago, where she is from, with her partner and two children.
